A Little Ray of Giving – Angels Xmas Toy Drive

By Laura Knox-Whyte

This year Ray White Kerikeri has offered to be a central drop off point for the Angels Xmas Toy Drive.

Bald Angels Charitable Trust are collecting toys for families who need them this Christmas, please help them.

What they love (ages newborn to 18 years)

  • Board games, books, art and craft stuff
  • Sports things, balls, frisbees, beach games
  • Swing ball sets are great as the whole whanau can play together
  • Hygiene & personal packs for teens (deo, moisturisers, soaps, perfumes etc)
  • Beach towels, and sun hats
  • 2nd hand Bikes, trikes, scooters (as long as they’re in great condition)

2020 target = 2000x gifts

What they don’t want (thanks) is things with batteries, unless extra batteries are supplied and electrical stuff (some families don’t have electricity or can’t afford it).

You can drop toys off anytime to Ray White Kerikeri during the week from 8.30am to 5.00pm – we would love to see you!

“The community has supported this project every year since 2013. to date we supply over 1600 gifts across our region to families identified by our Partners. These partners: Police, Womens Refuge, Social Services, Foodbanks and Health Organisations are at the coalface every day. They know which families can do with this little bit of cheer at a time of the year that traditionally, can be extremely stressful.

The outcome anecdotes we’ve received from our partners are multi-levelled. For example

  • Violence in a high-risk home is averted due to stress being removed-albeit, temporarily.
  • Children are being seen by district health workers, who prior to this xmas delivery, have not gained access to these children and homes.
  • Children have received their very first books ever.
  • A child has received something they can call their own for the first time.

We focus on books, sports equipment, board games, and activities the family can share. We love supplying practical items like beach towels, lip balms, hygiene products for teens, and physical activity items (like balls). We do not buy items that need batteries or electricity. NOTE: the cost of the Angel Aroha card and postage is included in this purchase so the gift value will be approximately $22 if only purchasing one package.

Kia ora!”

The team at Ray White Kerikeri are proud to help our local community, lets get behind them
